Building Custom Pipelines

For students exploring technical art and environment creation, developing custom utilities can completely change how a project comes together. Moises, an alumnus of Entertainment Arts KPU, took his technical skills a step further by creating a dedicated Mountain Tool to streamline landscape generation and shape customization for real-time environments. Creating organic, large-scale terrain manually can consume valuable production time. Moises tackled this challenge by designing a procedural solution that allows for rapid shape customization and iteration. Instead of sculpting every ridge and peak by hand, technical artists can use specialized tools to establish natural topography quickly, freeing up hours for detail work and layout design.

Moises' Mountain Tool can use any geometry to turn into a hill.

Bridging Art and Technical Skills

Projects like the Mountain Tool highlight why learning both creative design and scripting makes such a significant impact. Moises built a utility that addresses real production bottlenecks, proving that technical art skills are an incredible asset in modern environment pipelines.
